Speaking of musical theater…a viral TikTok song is officially becoming a full-stage musical. “Little Miss Perfect” is a bouncy track about a perfectionist teenage lesbian denying her sexuality, which went viral in 2020 when young theater lovers flooded TikTok with covers, edits, and even coming out videos set to it. Fans have begged for a full production ever since and now, 28-year-old composer Joriah Kwamé is delivering. He built the show in real time with his audience, posting works-in-progress and using fan feedback as a beta test—even making the lead’s love interest Filipina because Quezon City was his second biggest city of viewers on YouTube. The show premieres this month in Maryland but has eyes on New York, and its producer says the song’s millions of interactions help to attract investors. (Washington Post)
