Young Germans are taking their time with romantic milestones.

Young Germans are taking their time with romantic milestones. A new study from Germany’s Federal Institute for Public Health found that young Germans are waiting significantly longer to have their first kiss or sexual experiences than previous gens. Among 17-19-year-olds, just 40% report having had their first sexual experience, down from 61% six years ago. First kisses are coming later, too—33% of 14-year-olds said they’d had one, compared to 53% in 2019. Researchers attribute the shift to young people taking more time and making more deliberate choices about intimacy, supported by better, fact-checked sex education. (IamExpat)
