Gen Z’s analog revival is now arriving by snail mail.

Jan 13 2026

Gen Z’s analog revival is now arriving by snail mail. Subscription-based “mail clubs” are gaining traction, offering monthly envelopes filled with stickers, illustrations, zines, and handwritten notes from independent artists. Atlanta-based artist Jaylan Birdsong launched her club, Perch Post, after feeling like her work “disappeared into a void” on Instagram—especially as AI-generated content gained more visibility. Since announcing it during the TikTok ban scare in early 2025, her community has grown from 25 recipients to 1.6K. As another creator put it, physical mail offers “a moment to slow down and reconnect at a human pace.” Google searches for journaling have also doubled since 2020, including junk journaling—scrapbooking everyday ephemera—alongside it, which drives interest in getting printed art and scraps to collage. (Dazed)
