For weeks now, content has been flowing about green and red tartan tablecloths (not plaid, an important distinction), red velvet bows on tree branches, and warm lighting around the house. The emphasis is about looking vintage—the kind of décor Gen Z and Millennials may have seen in their childhood—with a luxe quality, inspired by the designer brand. However, we know these gens are budget shoppers. They’re likely not investing in real designer décor for a seasonal trend, but buying dupes at big box stores, finding authentic pieces at the thrift, or simply taking inspo at standard home stores.
