Gen Z men with college degrees are now just as likely to be unemployed as those without one. Lately, there’s been no shortage of news about Gen Z facing difficulty with the current job market. And new data from the U.S. Current Population Survey by the Financial Times shows that 22-27-year-old men with a college degree now have the same unemployment rate as those who don’t—around 7%. This marks a shift from 2010, when non-grads saw unemployment rates over 15% compared to 7% for grads. Feeling this shift, many Gen Z believe the value of a degree is diminishing, and for young men especially, trade careers are becoming more appealing. According to the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, vocational school enrollment has jumped 20% since 2020. (Fortune)
