Some young people are using ChatGPT as a relationship therapist. In a time where many young people can’t afford real therapy sessions, some are using AI tools as therapy to strengthen their relationships. YPulse’s AI report even shows 34% of 13-39-year-olds have used an AI tool / chatbot for relationship advice. One 33-year-old woman gave her chatbot a name and said she and her husband found comfort in venting to the tool about their problems. While some users appreciate the anonymity, convenience and unbiased feedback, experts warn that AI is still no replacement for a trained mental health professional. Chatbots can miss red flags or reinforce harmful thinking, making them better suited as supportive tools rather than replacements for therapy. (Economic Times)
