LEGO wants to uplift London’s young communities with their new Play Pavillion. Open through August 10, the Play Pavilion in the Kensington Gardens at the Serpentine Gallery aims to highlight how thoughtful design and community programming can make room for creativity in everyday life. According to LEGO, one in three kids feel “overlooked by urban design,” and many parents feel there aren’t enough safe, accessible play spaces for their children. But the Pavilion, designed by British architect Sir Peter Cook, is a free public space where kids and teens can take part in hands-on workshops across art, music, fashion, and ecology. From beat-making sessions and guided nature walks to going behind-the-scenes with creatives like Martine Rose and Niko B, the program encourages young people to experiment, build, and learn.
