SHEIN prices have dramatically increased for U.S. shoppers in response to new tariffs. A Bloomberg analysis found that women’s clothing prices rose by 8%, while the average price of SHEIN’s top 100 beauty and health items rose by 51% overnight, and some kitchen goods surged by over 200%. YPulse data shows SHEIN is one of college students favorite fashion brands, so this could have a big impact on whether or not young shoppers will stay loyal to the brand. Plus, with more increases expected in June, that could be the last straw—especially considering YPulse data shows 59% of college students buy from fast fashion stores because that’s all they can afford. In the meantime, SHEIN is already pushing a shift to production in Vietnam to offset rising costs on Chinese goods. (The Daily Beast)
