Hinge is helping fund affordable social events for young people. The dating app giant is stepping in to help Gen Z combat loneliness by funding affordable (and some free) events in New York, Los Angeles, and London through its “One More Hour” initiative. With $1M in funding, these events are designed to give young people opportunities to connect in real life, whether through food, nature, or reading—clearly following young people’s own trend of looking for third spaces. YPulse even predicted that in 2025, Gen Z will seek out more unexpected, low-cost moments that bring them together and create special memories, and these kinds of experiences are already going viral. By embracing this in-person approach, Hinge’s method could be a winning strategy to build stronger a connection with the young gen in their search for relationships. (CNBC)
