Gen Alpha’s interest in beauty and luxury is growing. Tweens play a big role in their parent’s purchasing decisions, and this gen wants products endorsed by their favorite influencers, which often include beauty products and luxury items. YPulse’s Tween Study confirms that nearly half of tween girls are already using skincare and watching beauty influencers, driving demand for popular brands like Drunk Elephant and even luxury brands like Dior. Plus, Kidscreen reports that 75% of tweens said they were excited about online beauty-content, while 68% already own a luxury product by 10-years-old. And tweens are being influenced by luxury trends, especially thanks to digital luxury goods in video games—YPulse reports that 61% of 8-12-year-olds have bought a digital product in virtual gaming worlds. So while Kidscreen reports that the gen values IRL experiences over virtual ones, we know virtual ones are likely the ones they’re spending time on right now. (Kidscreen)
