Premarital therapy is becoming more common for young couples. With therapy and conversations around mental health becoming more normalized, nearly 30% of engaged or recently married couples—and 39% of those Gen Z couples—are attending counseling, according to The Knot. Many see therapy as a way to strengthen their relationship and prepare for future challenges, rather than only a solution to turn to when things go wrong. On their own, YPulse data shows 54% of all 13-39-year-olds have spoken to a mental health professional before. As for couples, YPulse data shows that 17% of young people have gone to couples therapy already, and another 50% are interested. As therapy keeps becoming more normalized, premarital counseling among young couples may continue to gain traction, too. (Axios)
