Gen Z may be the most rejected generation, both in their personal lives and careers. From applying to hundreds of jobs with little response to navigating a dating culture driven by swipes and ghosting, young people are constantly being told “no.” (Despite the apps and job boards appearing to have more choices than ever.) But they’re not totally giving up: they still browse job opportunities despite feeling that companies expect too much from applicants and that entry-level jobs have unrealistic requirements. And though dating isn’t any easier—YPulse reports that many believe it’s harder now than ever—young people are turning to social media for connections or prioritizing friendships and personal fulfillment instead. For now, Gen Z is left to figure out rejection on their own, whether they’ll push back and reshape the rules or just find new ways to survive it. (Business Insider)
