Toddlers are getting tons of screentime, and many kids are using AI. A new report from Common Sense Media warns that AI-powered videos and apps are making it even easier for kids to spend hours in front of screens—sometimes with content that isn’t always safe. It’s a growing concern, with 40% of toddlers now having their own tablet device by the time they turn 2, and young people averaging two-and-a-half hours of daily screen time (mostly watching short-form videos), according to the report. At the same time, parents are feeling the pressure. According to YPulse, 80% of parents say they worry about too much screen time, yet 58% admit to using smartphones or tablets to keep their kids entertained. While many rely on screens for convenience, they’re also trying to set limits—46% have put screen time limits in place. As AI-driven content becomes more widespread, parents are stuck figuring out how to balance tech’s benefits with its downsides. (NPR)
