Coca-Cola is positioning itself as multi-generational in a new long-form ad. Directed by Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, the six-minute ad shows a family convenience store that changes with time—and Coca-Cola changing with it. In each decade, the store’s look, the soundtrack, character’s styles, and even the Coca-Cola signs reflect new aesthetics, matched with drinks of the time from Tab in the ‘70s to fountain dispensers in the ‘90s. It falls into the broader “advertainment” trend, because while attention spans for ads are shorter and shorter, Barris says consumers are willing to sit through for an interesting story. (Variety)
