Almost all babies and toddlers watch screens for more than the recommended time.

Almost all babies and toddlers watch screens for more than the recommended time. The World Health Organization’s official guideline on screens states that children under two-years-old shouldn’t be exposed to screens at all, and that two-five-year-olds screen time should be limited to one hour daily. But a recent study from the University of Canterbury which tracked over 6K children found that 80% of zero-two-year-olds exceed recommended screen time limits, and this number rises to 95% among three-year-olds. The study emphasized the relationship between screen exposure and negative outcomes such as lower academic performance, diminished social interactions, and higher health risks. (The Telegraph)
