GoFundMe is working to improve fundraiser sharing across social media. The company has identified that Gen Z (18-26-years-old) is significantly more likely to share causes or fundraisers for them on their social media accounts compared to older gens, with half saying they do so at least once a week. And with socials obviously playing such a large role in Gen Z’s charity, the brand is creating features that make the donation process easier. The roll out includes fundraising widgets for streamers (which other brands have, but GoFundMe clearly wants to compete with), user profiles to make it more social, and an integrated donation button on Instagram. The profile and Instagram functions will also improve its use for nonprofits, but for Gen Z, will create a centralized, public way of showing their charity. (ABC News)
