Instagram is now designating all users under-18 as “Teen Accounts” by default. These accounts will have stricter privacy settings, limiting who can message or comment on their posts and controlling sensitive content in Reels and on the Explore page. While similar options existed before, making it the default aims to encourage the kind of safe usage parents (and even governments) have been asking for—where teens under 16-years-old need parental consent to opt out of these settings, though those aged 16-17 can modify it themselves. These accounts will also be private by default, blocking messages and tags from non-followers. (Business Insider)
