Parental stress is a growing public health concern.

Parental stress is a growing public health concern. A 2023 survey by the American Psychological Association revealed that 33% of parents reported high stress levels in the past month, compared to 20% of other adults. Now, even the U.S. surgeon general is calling for “shifts in policy and cultural norms” to combat this mental health risk. Today’s parents are working longer hours spending more time on childcare, while some also care for aging relatives. The “culture of comparison” on social media around milestones, parenting, and achievements also adds to the exhaustion many families feel. (CNN)
