Gen Z still listens to the radio. Even though 13-22-year-olds’ listening habits definitely lean toward streaming, with Spotify and YouTube leading the way, radio still has a notable place in their life: 20% of their listening time comes from AM/FM. In fact, Edison Research found 53% of 13-34-year-olds (so, Millennials, too) listen to radio daily—naturally, more than half of that being during car rides. And while radio isn’t the younger gen’s number one source for listening to music, it’s notable that radio reaches 81% of 18-49-year-olds weekly, which is +20pts more than what cable TV now reaches.
