Why have tech jobs suddenly fallen out of favor among Gen Z? According to a recent survey by college job site Handshake, the class of 2024 has shifted their priorities away from tech companies, citing job stability as their top consideration. Clearly, they must not see tech as stable amid years of layoff news, because in contrast to the class of 2022, applications to tech companies have decreased by 19%. Instead, students are now seeking out companies that align with their personal values and have what they consider more stable outlooks. And a recent high-school survey found that healthcare and government appear to be gaining popularity as attractive career options. (Business Insider)
