TikTok is preparing to launch its own AI chatbot called Genie. If you read “Gemini,” like Google, read again. The search-competing updated chatbot will allow users to ask questions in real-time and receive instant responses. This development follows the launch of the “Tako” chatbot for users only located in the Philippines last May, which initially served as a guide for discovering new videos within the app. With this upgrade, TikTok’s AI chatbot will be capable of providing more comprehensive support, expanding on the app’s existing AI tech while enabling users to interact with the platform in a more conversational way. Of course, it also further encourages the app to be used as a search resource, not just for entertaining content but all questions users might have. (Social Media Today)
