Hinge is giving out limited-edition Gen Z “phonebooks” to help them get social IRL. In support of the Global Day of Unplugging—today, March 1—the brand is aiming to address Gen Z’s high levels of loneliness and screen dependence by promoting offline interactions. Shaped like smartphones the 100-page book from 19 young collaborators suggests activities to connect in person, like drawing “sketch-ies” instead of taking selfies. Hinge’s research indicates that 47% of young people desire easier ways to disconnect from social media and 75% agree that spending time with others in person reduces loneliness. (MediaPost)
