Gen Z is finding tax filing to be a major source of stress. In contrast to 62% of first-time tax filers in the young gen, only 38% of Millennials reported experiencing the same level of stress. The main reason behind this anxiety among younger gens seems to be their confusion about the tax filing process. A survey conducted by EY found that 62% of first-time tax filers are unsure about when they can expect important tax documents like W-2s and 1099s, and 45% of Gen Z and 36% of Millennials struggle with understanding the deadlines. YPulse data shows personal finance management / financial literacy is the number one skill that 13-39-year-olds wish they were being taught about in school. (YR Media)
