Meta is implementing artificial intelligence chatbots to appeal to Gen Z. Called “Gen AI Personas,” the tech is aiming to increase user engagement as well as assist with “productivity-related skills.” Meta reportedly plans to launch dozens of personas and has been internally testing them as they plan to compete with other social platforms for young consumers’ attention, especially TikTok. A former Snap and Instagram executive explains that “definitely, the younger you go, the higher the comfort level is with these bots.” YPulse research shows that for now, young consumers’ attitudes towards AI is mostly hopeful and excited, and they are curious about what AI-made products from brands will look like.
