Gen Z’s fear of missing out (or FOMO) is causing them to invest in the stock market more than other generations.A recent Bankrate survey found that nine out of 10 Gen Z are actively trading stock, and responding to influences including inflation and rising interest rates in the market, much more than any other generation. But it’s not just for the typical reasons: 41% of Gen Z in the U.S. and Canada admits to investing due to FOMO on growing their financial assets. Additionally, the growing presence of financial influencers on social media platforms like TikTok influence Gen Z investors—with 25% of Gen Z respondents sharing this sentiment according to data from investing platform Public. YPulse research shows that one third of Gen Z and Millennials have multiple streams of income, and of those, 19% are investing in the stock market. (Fortune)
