Gen Z might be steering toward trade careers. YPulse data has shown that Gen Z students are consistently demoting the importance of a college education for their future success, placing work experience as the top necessity. And now, data from handyman hiring platform Thumbtack shows 47% of 18-30-year-olds are interested in pursuing a career in a trade. However, the vast majority still say schools are steering them toward college, despite the benefits they perceive trades to have—making them hesitant to take a different path. But as concerns rise about the possibility of AI taking jobs away, trades have the security of requiring a real person to do the job, which only makes them more attractive to Gen Z. (Fast Company)
