The number of students going to community college is on the rise.

Jun 01 2023

The number of students going to community college is on the rise. Emerging stats from the National Student Clearhouse Research Center are showing that over the last decade, more students are attending community colleges. This change may have a lot to do with the effects of COVID-19: their research shows “overall, postsecondary enrollment still lags heavily behind pre-pandemic levels.” Just in spring 2023, there was a 1.4% decline in enrollment for bachelor’s degree programs. Along with pandemic effects, the increased price tag of college and the draw of the now booming job market is driving students to “get the most bang for their buck” at their local community college. YPulse recently told you how Gen Z is drastically changing their minds about college and the majority are even prioritizing work experience instead.
