Red Cross launched a ‘Not generated by AI” campaign to raise awareness of its humanitarian actions and to tackle the issue of AI-generated fake imagery, too. The rise of AI-generated images is making it increasingly difficult to differentiate between what’s real and what isn’t, and this is at the heart of Red Cross’ latest campaign. All visuals start with a “prompt,” similar to those used for producing AI-generated images, that describes the picture at the center of the ad. But at the bottom, a tagline reveals that “sadly, this photo was not created by artificial intelligence,” and serves as a reminder that real-life issues like migration, homelessness, and war are very real and aren’t disappearing with AI technology.
