A growing number of Gen Z creators are using Fanfix to monetize their content. YPulse’s New Content Creators trend report found that the majority of young people are creating content for an audience beyond their family and friends, and according to Adobe, “around 45% of Gen Z creators surveyed said they want to earn money from their content.” But recent uncertainty surrounding social media’s willingness to support creators (i.e. Meta discontinuing its monthly Reels Play bonus program and the potential TikTok ban) has some jumping to Fanfix, a new platform known as a direct competitor to Patreon but “focused on Gen Z creators and only allows clean content.” The platform allows influencers to earn money directly from their followers and just in the month of March alone, “Fanfix says it paid out $11 million to creators so far, with projections to be at $50 million by the end of the year.” (TechCrunch)
