Spotify is giving their Blend feature a Valentine’s Day twist. In the Spotify app, users can choose to create a Blend playlist and invite their friends to add songs to it. Now, the platform is encouraging users to invite their Valentines to create a love-inspired Blend that will tell them how “musically compatible” they are based on a percentage of music taste alignment. Users who are 25% or less musically compatible will be considered a “Relationship Rising,” while “‘Off the Charts’ are saved for the couples with the highest compatibility.” YPulse’s Music report data shows about half of Gen Z and Millennials are listening to Spotify regularly and over a third discover new music based on suggestions from streaming platforms like Spotify.
