TikTok is celebrating Black History Month with a Visionary Voices list. TikTok is making an official #BlackTikTok space for creators (like #BlackTwitter but actually embraced by the platform). The Visionary Voices list is set to honor “Black creatives, small business owners, and culture changemakers on TikTok” and celebrate Black History month with “special guests, album playlists, a week-long #womeninhiphop celebration, and more.” #BlackTikTok is the driving force behind the majority of viral dances, trends, and overall culture on the Gen Z-loved app, and TikTok is officially recognizing the community’s impact on the platform at large. Familiar Gen Z creators like Kahlil Greene, “dubbed the ‘Gen Z Historian,’” as well as recently viral rapper Ice Spice are featured on the list, as well as a ton of other inspiring creators.
