A French parenting hack going viral on TikTok is helping parents train their newborns to sleep through the night. YPulse recently explored the major differences between Millennial parents in North American and Western Europe and now it’s a hot topic on social media. The “Le Pause” method in Pamela Druckerman’s 2012 parenting book Bringing Up Bébé explains “all the tangible differences in the ways French and American parents raised and interacted with their children,” and goes into detail about how the French tend to pause before running to their fussy baby trying to sleep. Experts have backed this method and say that by taking an extra second before comforting the baby, it allows them to console themselves. One Millennial dad shared on TikTok (in a video that now has over 2.3M views) that he and his wife were unknowingly participating in the “Le Pause” method and were able to have their baby sleep through the night 10-11 hours by two-months-old.
