Spark, a popular third-party email app, is changing the way we communicate—making email a more appealing tool for young people. Spark Premium, the paid version of the app, is introducing a ton of new features. What sets them apart from their free competitor Gmail is that they automatically put “emails from real people” at the top of users’ inbox list; a function other apps struggle with. Spark’s “Email Focus Schedule” also lets users know that “email is a thing to be looked at a few times a day, not an ongoing all-day concern”—an issue “always connected” Gen Z and Millennials struggle with. Spark automatically opens this function with a serene picture and a message reminding users to check back at their scheduled time. For example, “Good morning, David. Your next email session is scheduled for 6:00 PM.” YPulse research shows that 78% of young people have felt burnt out because of work and they’re coming up with new ways to combat this. (The Verge)
