Silicon Valley is still proving to be a “Brotopia” of toxic masculinity and tech.

Sep 28 2022

Silicon Valley is still proving to be a “Brotopia” of toxic masculinity and tech. Although execs have made some efforts to change the industry, the fact remains that big tech giants are simply putting up a “smoke screen” of progress by promoting women and POC. Meanwhile, the power behind platforms like Meta and Twitter is run by White men who rampantly post “edgy memes and [spout] flip political takes.” Women in the industry don’t have the deep rooted “bromance” network many of the men take part in, and it has a lot to do with the fact that they’re fearful of sexual misconduct that is largely still present. YPulse research shows Gen Z is passionate about changing big industries and they’re not afraid to hold big tech accountable.
