Jordan Brand is becoming the official sponsor of HBCU Howard University. The partnership between the athletic giant and “one of the world’s most celebrated historically Black schools” is a 20-year commitment that will start with new football uniforms for The Bisons, and will (naturally) be focused on Howard’s athletic department. But it could extend into academic recruiting opportunities in the future. This marks the first time that the Jordan Brand has sponsored an HBCU since 1997, and the decision comes a year after the brand’s “$100 million commitment…towards organizations fighting for social and economic justice in Black communities.” (Boardroom, Sole Collector)
