Millennials are staying close to the nest. YPulse’s Life Milestones and Future Plans report data shows 82% of Millennials say owning a home is an important goal to them personally, but it looks like that doesn’t necessarily mean going too far. According to a new study by the U.S. Census Bureau and Harvard University, “by age 26 more than two-thirds of young adults in the U.S. lived in the same area where they grew up.” Eighty percent of Millennials moved less than 100 miles away while 90% resided less than 500 miles away. Migration is highest in the U.S. for young adults, but most are moving within their respective commuting zones and demographically, distances were shorter for BIPOC Millennials. The emergence of dual-income households and pandemic related woes made being able to pick up and move more difficult. (AP News)
