Yeezy Gap and Balenciaga are teaming up for a gaming experience inspired by the elite fashion collection. The new mobile video game allows users to select a male or female avatar and customize their skin tone, clothing, and accessories. The goal of the game is to collect as many doves as possible by directing that avatar though the sky by motioning their mobile device. Over the weekend, store goers were seen playing the game on Twitter and the hype around the 28 piece collection ramped up. The Gap store in Times Square is the first to launch West’s and Balenciaga’s collection in-person and the store’s redesign is minimalistic, industrial, and monochromatic. According to Gap, “The ‘reengineered’ store was ‘distilled to its most essential form in Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga’s vision of utilitarian design.’” The Yeezy Gap collection was popular among young consumers before it fully dropped, and YPulse’s Luxury report shows Gen Z and Millennials think it’s important for the fashion industry to make luxury items more accessible to young consumers.
