Amazon’s Prime Video is getting a long-awaited makeover. Streamers will notice an array of updated tools and functions “aimed at addressing years of complaints about its nonintuitive navigation, wonky search engine, and generally outdated appearance.” The aesthetic improvements were essential, but Prime Video is planning on adding even more to their Live TV and Sports categories since those two areas are expected to be key to their growth in the coming years. Most notably, the platform has improved upon their display of individual movies and shows, making them appear larger on the screen and featuring more of a description. Their “Super Carousels” will bundle new content and they’ll also take a page from Netflix’s book with a Top 10 list. YPulse’s media consumption report data shows only 29% of Gen Z and Millennials are watching Prime Video weekly or more, compared to 65% watching Netflix weekly or more. (Vulture)
