Instacart and Walmart are teaming up for Walmart Now, a new online convenience store. For the initial launch, the online shop will offer products from 10 Walmart locations in the Toronto area with the deliveries being carried out through Instacart in as little as 30 minutes. The virtual convenience store is growing based on Instacart’s previous partnership with the big box giant, “which brought standard delivery service to 250 of Walmart’s stores in the country.” This new and improved storefront is building on Instacart’s new Carrot Storefront platform, offering “retailers more data and marketing tools, the ability to build custom storefronts and rapid delivery.” YPulse research shows that since the pandemic, young consumers have been online shopping more than ever and Walmart saw an “eye-popping” 74% increase in sales from its e-commerce platform.
