U.K.-based Broadland Drinks is bringing low-alcohol iced to sober-curious young Europeans. YPulse’s WE nightlife and drinking research found that after a surge of drinking at the start of the pandemic, 42% of young Europeans planned to cut back on drinking this year as the sobriety shift takes hold in Western Europe. Meanwhile, sales of low- and no-alcohol drinks are expected to rise by 22% from 2019 to 2024 in the U.K., and the global hard seltzer market is already steadily rising. To tap into this growing market for moderation, Broadland Drinks is releasing four flavors of its alcoholic iced teas, which are vegan, contain just 89 calories, are made using cold-brewed tea leaves, and are just 4% ABV.
