A new study shows that nearly three in five city-dwelling U.K. consumers have been inspired to make a change in their lives after listening to a podcast. Young consumers have been fueling the podcast economy for years now, and the pandemic fueled a rise in listening as Gen Z and Millennials sought more ways to keep entertained at home. In fact, Spotify revealed that podcasts gained momentum across age groups last year, with the number of 15-44-year-olds who tuned into shows on the platform growing 34% year-over-year. YPulse’s own research shows that 64% of young Europeans are listening to podcasts, and some in the U.K. may be doing so for guidance: research from Vodafone found that among Britons living in cities, the majority have been inspired to eat healthier, exercise more or learn a new skill after listening to a podcast. Meanwhile, one in five have also been inspired to change their career, showing just how influential podcasts have become in young Europeans’ lives. (Wales Online) |
