The U.K.’s Gen Z are showing more caution when it comes to easing back into post-pandemic life.

Mar 23 2022

The U.K.’s Gen Z are showing more caution when it comes to easing back into post-pandemic life. A recent YouGov survey found that 59% of Britons believe the U.K. should “learn to live with COVID” instead of continuing to mandate vaccines, tests, and masks. But the survey’s 18-24-year-olds are less likely to think it’s time to move on, with just 43% agreeing, “we need to learn to live with it and get back to normal.” Meanwhile, 63% of 25-49-year-olds want the U.K. to return to normal, highlighting a divide between Gen Z and Millennials’ feelings about post-COVID life. YPulse explored Gen Z and Millennials’ current mindsets about the pandemic in our The In-Between trend research and found that many young people are living in a pandemic-created limbo that is fostering moments of uncertainty. Thirty-five percent of 13–39-year-olds in Western Europe tell YPulse they don’t think life will ever return to the way it was, but they’re divided on how ready they are to step back into normal life now.
