LinkedIn launched a new feature to help moms with “career gaps” in their resume. YPulse’s What’s Next for Work trend research found that 35% of Millennial moms left their jobs to be a stay-at-home parent, and according to a global survey from LinkedIn, 60% of participants believe there’s still a stigma around parents—especially moms—who choose to take a break from work. However, the same survey found that nearly half of hiring managers believe job candidates with career breaks are an “untapped talent pool.” To support the demographic of parents and mothers, LinkedIn debuted a new option for its members who have “career breaks” in their resume to explain those gaps in their Experience section. Along with parenting, the feature allows users to choose options like career transition, caregiving, and health and well-being to add further context to their career breaks. (Mother.ly)
