Walmart launched a platform to help Millennial parents shop. YPulse’s Millennial Parenting research found that 42% of Millennial parents go online for parenting advice. Now, Walmart is launching Tot Squad, a curated marketplace that supports parents via video chat or in-person. Walmart shoppers will be able to receive “expert help” from the squad for tips and advice on which baby products—like which car seats or breast pumps—best fits their needs. In select stores, customers can scan tags with QR codes located in the baby department to buy support from Tot Squad. Meanwhile, parents will be given the option to request a consultation on their carts. Those who purchase items from a baby registry can also include a consultation as an add-on with their gift. Services include sleep consultations, breastfeeding and lactation coaching and support, and diet and nutrition advice for pregnant and breastfeeding moms, which can also be purchased separately. According to Walmart’s VP of Omni Merchandising Baby Hardlines, Lauren Uppington, the service will help “the millions of parents who shop with us each week for their baby needs.” (Biz Journals)
