CB2’s 2022 trend report reveals the styles and attitudes that will shape home design this year.

Feb 08 2022

CB2’s 2022 trend report reveals the styles and attitudes that will shape home design this year. According to the brand’s annual report, consumers still see their home as therapy, something that “should serve as an escape and support one’s overall well-being.” Shades of green like sage and emerald will remain popular in upholstery and textiles, and infiltrate unexpected areas like marble. Cultivating an indoor / outdoor lifestyle while embracing natural design elements will also be top of mind. Maximalism is still trending as consumers “chase joy through design by leaning into extravagant adornments and abstract shapes.” Vintage and mid-century modern aesthetics are still going strong, and interior design that is sustainable and timeless is more important than ever. Lastly, the idea of luxury has become more widely accepted as people create spaces that exemplify high design and that make them feel good. YPulse’s home design research shows 87% of young people plan to buy something for their home in the next year, and they’re looking for things that help them create a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere. (Sourcing Journal)
