One in six adults in the U.K. believe life will never go back to how it was pre-COVID-19.

Jan 12 2022

One in six adults in the U.K. believe life will never go back to how it was pre-COVID-19. Though optimism for a return to normal took over the beginning of 2021, new COVID-19 variants and spikes in infections through the summer and fall have caused many young Europeans to lose hope. Now, a recent survey from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) shows that more Britons than ever (16%) believe pre-COVID life will never return. At the same time, the number of people who believe COVID will end in four to six months has steadily decreased. In YPulse’s new The In-Between trend report (WE version coming soon), we explored Gen Z and Millennials’ current mindsets about the pandemic, and found that many young people are living in a pandemic-created limbo that is fostering moments of optimism along with uncertainty. Thirty-five percent of 13–39-year-olds in Western Europe tell us they don’t think life will ever return to the way it was. (Huffington Post)
