Top “buy now, pay later” platform Klarna partnered with U.K. luxury department store Harrods to support “hesitant” luxury shoppers during the holiday season. YPulse’s recent WE luxury research found that the majority of young Europeans have purchased a luxury item, and 68% agree that luxury is back in style. But among those who haven’t entered the market, the number one reason is that they can’t afford it—and they want brands to make high-end items more accessible. While many brands are opening rental or secondhand luxury marketplaces, Harrods is offering cash-strapped consumers the opportunity to pay for their luxe goods in up to four installments, opening another path into luxury for Gen Z and Millennials.
