GenZ Girl Gang is an inclusive support platform offering young women the sisterhood they didn’t know they needed. YPulse’s Clicking on Community trend research found that outside of family and friends, 18% of young females look to online communities for guidance / support (compared to 15% of young males), and GenZ Girl Gang is one that’s helping young women enact change in their communities. Organized by Deja Foxx, a digital creator and student at Columbia University, the group was created in Foxx’s dorm room to help young women connect nationwide over topics like career, politics, advocacy—you name it. GenZ Girl Gang aims to “redefine sisterhood for a new generation through bridging generational gaps, creating and sharing opportunities, and learning from and teaching each other.” The group holds online events of all kinds, like their Back to School Survival Summit that was held on Instagram, featuring panels and discussions about creating your own career path, money management advice, and campus confidence. The group isn’t about “builiding a following or gaining numbers,” according to Foxx. GenZ Girl Gang is a collaborative space where everyone is invited to vote on brand initiatives from their logo, to their mission, and what happens next. (Paper Mag)
