Childrenswear sales are booming. According to Mordor Intelligence, the U.S. childrenswear market reached $34 billion in 2020 and could reach $40 billion this year. Just one example of this growth: subscription kids brand Dopple reports their revenue growth increased 5x from last year. While “pajamas and comfort clothing are still hot-ticket items,” back-to-school items and higher quality pieces are increasingly in demand. Dopple partnered with a luxury childrens’ retailer to include more “upscale” items in their boxes for the start of school. Meanwhile, streetwear continues to influence kids’ fashion, and as Millennial parents look to “elevate [kids’] wardrobes,” partnerships like Oshkosh B’Gosh x Kith are becoming more common.
