Millennial parents are buying baby and children’s products that express their own style. Thanks to Instagram and social shopping, the design of kids’ items have changed drastically in the last decade, as brands make an effort to appeal to the aesthetic desires of parents directly. “Ugly, chunky” toys and furniture in primary colors have been replaced by natural wood, pastels, and minimalist packaging. Meanwhile, Millennials’ kids are growing up in a world of direct-to-consumer brands, and “long-term effects of coming of age in a terrazzo-filled home with wooden toys…remain to be seen.” (Vox)
